VOA MUSEUM BOARD ADDS FOUR NEW MEMBERS

National VOA Museum Adds Four New Board Members

Four new board members have joined the National Voice of America Museum of Broadcasting in West Chester.
Terry S. Jacobs is chairman and CEO of The JFP Group, LLC, a real estate development company, and chairman emeritus and founder of Jamos Capital, LLC, a private equity firm specializing in alternative investment strategies. He is founder and former CEO of radio station holding companies Jacor Communications and Regent Communications, and  is chairman of the board for Adelante Media Group, LLC, a privately-held radio and TV company specializing in Spanish language programming. Jacobs is a board member of the American Financial Group and has served on the boards of 10 publicly-held companies and numerous non-profit charitable boards over the last 30 years, including the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame and Cincinnati Ballet.  He was a director of Capital Title Group, Inc. until its merger with Landamerica Financial Group, Inc. in 2006.
He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a professional organization focused on applying actuarial science to property, casualty and similar risk exposures and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
Chris Wunnenberg is development director of Schumacher Dugan Construction, LLC, where he has worked for the last 36 years.  Wunnenberg  is a 24-year  West Chester resident, community volunteer and recipient of the West Chester / Liberty Chamber of Commerce “Citizen of the Year” and the Butler County Republican Party “ Republican of the Year” awards.  He is a founding family of the West Chester/Liberty Community Foundation, and vice-chairman and central committee member of the Butler County Republican Party.
James  L. Jaeger is a mechanical engineer and entrepreneur who co-founded Cincinnati Microwave, manufacturer of the Escort Radar Warning Receiver. He has worked for Motorola Corp. and R. L. Drake Co., where he was system designer on the TR-7 HF Amateur Radio transceiver. He has been an amateur radio operator since 1964.
Melinda Zemper is president of Oak Tree Communications,  a West Chester publicity and media relations company. A former journalist and educator at Miami University,  Zemper has lived in West Chester for 24 years and  is a community volunteer and education advocate.  She is a member of the West Chester-Liberty Chamber Alliance and a graduate of the Class of 2011 SEBC Leadership 21 group.
“We’re happy to have such dedicated new  talent on the board and look forward to continuing to make great progress in developing the museum,” said Ken Rieser, museum board president.
Other museum board members include: Ken Rieser, VOA museum board president and retired general manager of Black River Lime Co., an Armco, Inc. subsidiary. He is also a former business owner, past president of the West Chester-Liberty Rotary Club and current chairman of the club’s Endowment Council.
Mark Hecquet, executive director of the Butler County Visitors Bureau; Patti Alderson, founder, board chair and CEO of The Community Foundation of West Chester-Liberty, board member for Ursuline Academy of Cincinnati., and recipient of various leadership awards, including the Cincinnati Enquirer’s “Women of the Year” award; Clyde Haehnle, retired vice president and director of Avco Broadcasting Corp.,  design engineer with the Voice of America, and executive vice president of R. C. Crisler & Co., a major investment banking firm. He has been a trustee of WCET, WGUC, Radio Reading Services for the Visually Handicapped, the Bankers Club, Maketewah Country Club and The Gray History of Wireless Museum.
Jeffrey P. Monroe,  aeronautical engineer previously with GE Aircraft Engines, small business owner in West Chester for 27 years and amateur radio operator; Clifford Perry, retired General Motors senior quality engineer and licensed amateur radio operator; Gary West,  co-owner of GW Associates, amateur  radio  operator and  board member or former board member for the Cincinnati Ballet, American Classical Music Hall of Fame, Gray History Of Wireless Museum and member of the Board of Overseers of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra; Mike Martini,  award-winning radio announcer in greater Cincinnati and WMKV-FM radio host, and co-founder and president of Media Heritage, Inc.  Martini is the author of Cincinnati Radio, a history of Cincinnati radio.
Greg M. Stevens, vice president of investments for UBS, board member for Outback America, and  past president of  the National VOA Museum of Broadcasting board; Susan Redman-Rengstorf, regional chief development officer at the American Red Cross; Bob White, owner  of the Robert White Company, an interior finishes firm, and chairman of the board for the Gray History of Wireless Museum; and  Dave Snyder, engineering manager and  last transmitter plant supervisor  for the VOA Bethany station and board member for the Jack Gray History of Wireless Museum.
Rieser said the board is implementing a docent program and seeks volunteers to learn about the museums and help lead tours. Those wishing to join the VOA Museum docent family can contact Dave Snyder at DavidSnyde@aol.com.
The National VOA Museum of Broadcasting consists of exhibits featuring the Voice of America at the VOA-Bethany station; Media Heritage’s Greater Cincinnati Museum of Broadcast History; the Gray History of Wireless Museum; and the West Chester Amateur Radio Assn.
The West Chester Amateur Radio Assn.  restored the original VOA-Bethany control room, which will be the location of the club’s amateur ham radio station WC8VOA. The ham group will continue to communicate with other shortwave radio amateurs around the world from that station on a regular basis.
