VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR SPRING CLEANING AT VOA MUSEUM

Volunteers needed to help VOA Museum prepare for spring

WEST CHESTER TWP. — Student and adult volunteers can help with spring cleaning at the National VOA Museum of Broadcasting on its second annual Work Day.
The Work Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at the historic Art Deco building at 8070 Tylersville Road.
Last year, students from local high school honor societies, high schools and universities joined museum board members to move boxes, mop and sweep floors, clean exhibit cases and move furniture at the former VOA-Bethany site.
“This is a fun, day-long event and a community-builder in addition to helping us prepare for spring tours,” said Ken Rieser, museum board chairman. “We are always looking for volunteers and docents and welcome the opportunity to engage the community in our mission to develop a first-class museum.”
Volunteers should be 14 years or older. Community service hours will be awarded for participation in this effort for the nonprofit museum.
“Volunteers should come dressed in old clothing and be prepared to provide some elbow grease to our projects,” said Dave Snyder, board member.
