NEARLY 3000 PEOPLE AT VOA PARK FOR KITES 'N MPX EVENT APRIL 11

Although the winds weren't strong on Saturday, nearly 300 people came to the VOA park to participate in the Kites 'N MPX which returned to VOA after a three year hiatus.  Kids competed in parachute races, chased after giant bubbles and built their own kites  

The east garage of the VOA Museum building was used by dozens of volunteers to help kids assemble their own kites from kits.  The radio museums were open to the public from 1-4 pm. Here are several pictures of kite construction.
